Russia’s telecom regulator Roskomnadzor officially announced restrictions on voice and video calls made through WhatsApp and Telegram.
Messages still work, but calls now fail to connect - leaving millions unable to speak with friends, family, or colleagues.
The ban does not shut down the apps entirely — you can still send and receive messages. However, voice calls, video calls, and possibly group calls are being disrupted at the network level.
